madagascar/kingdom of heaven
Monday, June 6th, 2005saw madagascar two weeks ago (in theatre)…and saw kingdom of heaven yesterday (on dvd)…
madagascar
quite funny…but nothing beats SHREK 1 & 2…hee…shrek 2 is even crazier than the first…madagascar have its funny moments, cheesy moments, and too-forced-to-be-funny moments…it started out promising…the main characters from the zoo are fun (although they act too human-like)…
the characters i dislike most are those inhabitants of madagascar itself…what are they? lemures?
and the king’s disgusting accent is really irritating (i suppose the animator thought it was funny, or even cute ;-P)
so…once the main characters encountered these irritating madagascar inhabitants…the movie felt like going downhill to something too forced…however, the penguins are funny! so although their behaviour is unacceptably impossible - u still laugh at them…(unlike the stupid lemures or whatever they are)
…in conclusion, it was not worth to watch it on the big screen…(unlike shrek 1 & 2, incredibles, toy story 1 & 2, a bug’s life) - in short, not one of the classics-to-be-3D animation
kingdom of heaven
alrite…i heard some of my colleagues & friends praised this particular movie…so i bought the dvd…and i suppose the high expectation disappointed me :-P…the storyline was clear, but the red line was fague…what was the turning point of ur faith, my dear blacksmith-who-turned-to-be-a-true-knight?
and sure the princess was beautiful, but i reckon the bible should have taught u not to even think of other ppl’s wife? it happened all too easy…i didn’t feel the emotion intertwining the scenes…where is the passion?
had i watched it in the theatre, the impact might be greater tho…(not sure hee)…the movie looked collosal…but forgive me for not putting it in the same class as ‘Gladiator’ :-D, i just could not feel ‘it’.
